NY Post Page Six: Cancer Cure’s an Eye-Opener

Barbara Corcoran sure knows how to make the best of a crisis. When she recently learned she had skin cancer, she turned the surgery to remove it into a cosmetic procedure. During a doctor’s visit, the real-estate mogul and star of ABC’s “Shark Tank” learned that a small, years-old bump on her left eyelid was a cancerous basal cell. At first, “I was shaking at the knees,” Corcoran told us. But, as the doctor explained how he’d remove skin from her upper lid to patch below her eye, she recalls: “I’m thinking, this sounds like an eyelift … I figured as long as we’re going to be messing with my eyes, I might as well parlay it into something good.” She got the eyelift, but insurance didn’t pay for the cosmetic bonus. Corcoran yesterday put on eye makeup for the first time in four weeks. She said her left eye still needs work but her right “looks drop-dead beautiful.” AKPC_IDS += "2688,";
